Whenever I’m looking to buy big ticket items for the house, I usually wait for a holiday sale to roll around. Luckily, some of the best sales are over Labor Day weekend. And, while I feel a little guilty celebrating, say Memorial Day, by shopping, I have no qualms about celebrating Labor Day by spending the fruits of my hard-earned labor!

When we were renovating the house, I bought almost all of our light fixtures during Labor Day weekend, even though they wouldn’t be installed for months. I also waited weeks to buy a great sectional from Macy’s to take advantage of the Labor Day weekend sale.
So, this post is a reminder that, if you’ve been waiting to buy something new for your house (furniture, rugs, lighting, appliances), do it this weekend!
