As soon as we discovered this house – in its neglected and overgrown state – I dreamt of painting it white with black shutters. I envisioned Christmas wreaths hanging from all the windows. This year, my dreams for our Christmas front porch came true.
Wreaths adorn all of the front facing windows, including the dormer windows.
While our Christmas decor inside is neutral, red bows and poinsettias add a pop of color outside.
I found this cute little metal reindeer at Crate and Barrel years ago.
You can create height at the front door by elevating some plants. I found the handmade wooden box in a closet in our house after we moved in.
The garland over the front door is the same garland that I used throughout our house inside.
This little pre-lit artificial tree is “planted” in a terra cotta pot. It’s the closest I came to hanging Christmas lights this year.
I love a seasonal doormat, especially when it’s layered over a rug.
I used two pieces of wired ribbon to make the red bows. First, you make the two loops and staple them together in the middle, then you tie the second piece around the middle.
The former homeowner must have been a woodworker, because he also left behind these wooden deer. We’re happy to keep displaying them, although they definitely don’t fool the real deer!
We fly the flag year round, but I actually quite like how it looks for the holidays.
A good reminder for the holiday season!
Whether you’re wishing for wreaths or snow or a Nintendo or Paw Patrol toys this year, I hope your holiday wishes come true!
