There is a small, windowless powder room (or half bath) off of our living room. Like so many other rooms in the house, it had the most lovely mauve wallpaper.
And an equally charming 80s vanity with shiny yellow brass hardware and sconces.
This room felt like a cave – or a jail with floral cell bars. To open it up, we took down that wallpaper and painted the walls Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray. The baskets above the toilet were a designer knock-off DIY project. (We also got a new, higher toilet.)
We replaced the dated vanity with a pedestal sink with a unique waterfall faucet. A new vanity light and mirror were the finishing touches. (This is a tiny space that is really hard to photograph, so what you can’t see is a large woven art piece on the opposite wall and a round jute rug.)
